NET Transportation Policy

This policy only applies if a customer doesn’t have a vehicle and the agency arranges transportation with one of our contracted vendors.

Effective August, 2017 the following changes will apply to all participants of the transportation program:

  • You are required to notify your provider at least 24 hours prior to your appointment if you have cancelled your appointment or it has been rescheduled.
  • The provider will give you a reminder phone call for your pick up time. IF YOU DO NOT ANSWER THE PHONE OR RETURN THE MESSAGE YOUR TRANSPORTATION WILL BE CANCELLED. If you do not get a reminder phone call it is your responsibility to contact the provider at least 24 hours prior to your appointment or they will not pick you up.
  • If you fail to provide 24 hour cancellation notice, fail to answer the phone or return scheduling calls, and/or you do not answer your door the day of your appointment more than three times in a six month period your transportation services through our contracted providers will be SUSPENDED.
  • First offense – three month suspension
  • Second offense – six month suspension
  • Third offense – the Belmont County Department of Job and Family Services will terminate your transportation through our contracted providers.
  • During any suspension, the agency will provide you with gas vouchers if you find someone with a vehicle who is willing to transport you to medical appointments. You must meet all of the transportation program requirements, and you will also be expected to comply with all gas voucher program rules.
  • UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES ARE YOU PERMITTED TO ARRANGE YOUR OWN TRANSPORTATION WITHOUT PRIOR APPROVAL FROM THE AGENCY.
